Our 101 in 1001

At the beginning of the year, we created our list for goals, but had some difficulty publishing updates for those goals as they were completed. Therefore, we decided to create a list of 101 things to accomplish in 1001 days! Many of these goals were on our previous list, but we’ve added many others that we’d love to be able to complete, and since they’ve been sitting on our desktop for over a month, and some of the goals have been or are soon to be completed, we figure this is as good of a time as any to publish it on the blog. Therefore, from now until 1001 days, we will update the blog as we check things off of the 101 in 1001 list!

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
Start date: May 11th, 2011 - End date: June 17th, 2013

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
