I didn’t want it to be a new year’s resolution for fear that I would break it and not stick to it, so instead I decided to start my diet on December 26th, 2012, with the goal of making 2013 my year! Now, 9 months into it, I can proudly say that I’ve lost over 45 lbs, and am happier than ever. For the first few months I strictly dieted, and now that I’ve reached my first goal, I have adopted healthy eating and working out into my lifestyle. GT and I now think about everything we put into our bodies, we cook more often, and we plan our lives around working out… makes me so proud, but also makes we wish we would have done this so much sooner!
About a month ago, GT and I signed up for Soul Cycle, not knowing what to expect. Walking in through the door was the hardest part, and then it was truly love at first clip on (to my pedals that is). It was such an intense workout, and at times I truly thought I would die, but I loved every second of it. The staff is wonderful, the music is amazing, and it is such a great workout that within a few weeks, I’ve already seen a change in my body. I love the fact that we ride to candlelight and am obsessed with all of the positive energy that the instructors give… I honestly leave class every single time feeling like I can take over the world… a total endorphin high! Yes, it is expensive, but I think that any investment into your body is a good one, and worth every penny.
Each instructor and class is different and every time I go, I find it to be challenging. It requires a great deal of coordination, endurance, and strength. And yes, I may have been accused by friends of joining a cult, and if that’s what we want to call it, I ‘m happily drinking the Kool-Aid :-)
You know your obsessed when you already own your own cycling shoes, and the only way you want to celebrate your birthday is by taking a class with your favorite instructor!
